When does frostpunk 2 come out12/29/2023 But most importantly, it adds a new layer that is present in many aspects of the game - be it politics, society or technological progress - the conflict between humans and their nature". Frostpunk 2 builds on the conflicts of its predecessor - survival vs human values, life vs the arctic frost. What players should expect is a wide universe of choices, the freedom to shape the society and the city however they see fit - and reap the consequences. With a still-growing team of nearly 70 people, we have more manpower available to focus on all aspects of the game from the scale, the production value, and the quality of UX, but our ambition is to do more than a straight-up sequel. “What we aim to deliver to players is an experience that goes vastly beyond that of the original Frostpunk. Jakub Stokalski, Frostpunk 2 Co-Director, had this to say about the grand vision of the game: However, change does not come easily, and not everyone in this new multi-layered society will welcome this new direction.ĭemands and expectations of various factions will raise tensions and evoke conflicts, but will a cold-blooded rule and a Machiavellian approach to politics be necessary? As the everlasting cold continues its grip on the city and outside threats arise, you’ll need to make sure your people are united, driven, and ready for difficult, unavoidable sacrifices! After the age of coal, conquering Frostland for the oil extraction industry is expected to be the new salvation of what’s left of humanity. You play as the leader of a resource-hungry metropolis where the expansion and search for new sources of power is an unavoidable reality. Its successor takes place 30 years after the apocalyptic blizzard storm, and Earth is still overwhelmed by the icy climate of neverending frost and harsh weather. Sending people round to break legs wtf? that is hilarious, I genuinely laughed out loud at that, I just have no words as to why your head went there, when the thread is talking about ads, in a game, discussing how we do not want them there.Īny way, regardless again I meant "them" as in ads, and in no way am I condoning violence against anyone.Frostpunk 2 is the sequel to the highly acclaimed, BAFTA-nominated society survival game that blended city building, strategy and management gameplay, creating a brand new genre. Even so, why on earth would you think anyone meant that? talk about escalating things quickly. This is silly, Its not my fault you read it wrong, Again no-one else did. I read the "they" that the devs were going to "do something about" ie I thought you were threatening the devs would send out a good squad to break the legs of people who were complaining about the ads. -ĭid you read the thread or is your nickname actually true? Clearly the thread is about the ad's. maybe I will wait and, you know, actually wait and see if it will be worth the hassle. I went from "I am probably going to pick up FP2 at launch" to. having had these adds being shoved down my throat, and being very buggy as some people click it once and it never ask again, while others - myself included - need to click it away every time we pass the main menu.Īnd reading that some new bugs has been introduced with this "patch". Just a parasitic system added without being adjusted to actually work properly.Īnd now they just keep making kind of the same things that make 11 bit. And the one that did have some different things, like "Last Autum" didn't get to use a lot of it's unique setting in endless, or even add to the rest of the game.Įndless mode not getting the love that it deserved, and at the very least, proper fixes for the added DLC content to properly work with it - for instance, building the generator in endless, you end up with a big row around the generator that can not be built by anything other than construction buildings - that then become useless. Some of the DLC's that had very little actual changes and felt quite lackluster. The promise of modding support that then got redacted. I mean, overal I had a good time playing FP1. If anything, when I saw FP2, I was a little excited, and re-installed FP1 to get back into the world a little and be ready for when FP2 drops. Yea, not only is it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ annoying to get adds in the game you have bought.Īnd again, it is just bloating up the install folder and download size with something NO ONE ASKED FOR.Īnd again, something we are all VERY WELL AWARE OF already. Anyhoo no big deal really as long as the devs hopefully do something regarding them :) Originally posted by Ceejay:They are not complaining about the ad's, just talking about 2.
